Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Guwahati → Kaziranga

Approx. 220 km | 5–6 hours

Arrive in Guwahati and begin the journey towards Kaziranga.

Travel through Assam's countryside and tea-growing regions.

Arrive at Kaziranga and check in.

If time permits:

• Tea garden visit

• Nature walk

• Village experience

Overnight: Kaziranga

Day 2 – Kaziranga – Wildlife Safari

Full-day wildlife experience

Early morning jeep safari through an operational range of Kaziranga National Park.

Possible sightings:

• One-horned rhinoceros

• Elephant

• Wild water buffalo

• Deer

• Gaur

• Wild boar

• Birds

After breakfast and relaxation, enjoy a second safari or nature activity, subject to availability.

Day 3 – Kaziranga → Shillong

Approx. 300–320 km | 7–8 hours

After breakfast, drive towards Shillong.

The route takes you back through Assam and into the Khasi Hills.

Day 4 – Shillong → Cherrapunji / Sohra

Approx. 55–60 km | 2–2.5 hours

Explore the spectacular landscapes around Sohra.

Undertake a guided forest walk/trek to experience a living root bridge.

Depending on fitness level, the day can also include:

Return to your accommodation.

Day 6 – Cherrapunji → Guwahati / Nagaon

Approx. 160–180 km | 4–5 hours

Return from Meghalaya towards Assam.

Stay overnight in Guwahati or Nagaon, depending on the final routing and preferred travel pace.

This intermediate night makes the following journey towards Nagaland considerably more comfortable.

Day 7 – Guwahati / Nagaon → Kohima

Approx. 300–350 km | 7–8 hours

Start early and travel towards Nagaland.

The landscape gradually changes from Assam's plains to the Naga Hills.

Arrive in Kohima.

Explore Kohima and its local surroundings.

Day 8 – Kohima → Khonoma → Kohima

Full-day cultural experience

Today is dedicated to Nagaland's indigenous heritage.

Visit Khonoma, one of the region's best-known traditional Naga villages.

• Terraced agricultural landscapes

• Local traditions

• Village trails

Return to Kohima.
