These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Assam Discovery website and the provision of travel-planning and tour-related services by Assam Discovery.

By using our website, submitting an enquiry, requesting a quotation, confirming a booking or purchasing a travel service from Assam Discovery, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Assam Discovery

Assam Discovery is a Northeast India tour operator specialising in private, customised and tailor-made journeys across Assam and the wider Northeast India region.

2. Nature of Our Services

Assam Discovery provides travel-planning and tour-organisation services, which may include:

• Tailor-made itineraries

• Accommodation arrangements

• Transportation

• Local guides

• Wildlife safaris

• Cultural and village experiences

• Tea and heritage experiences

• Photography and birdwatching journeys

• Adventure activities

• Permits and permit assistance where applicable

• Airport and station transfers

• Other travel services specifically requested and confirmed by the traveller

The exact services included in a particular journey will be stated in the quotation, itinerary, invoice or booking confirmation issued to the traveller.

3. Enquiries, Quotations and Itineraries

An enquiry submitted through the website, email, WhatsApp or another communication channel does not by itself constitute a confirmed booking.

Assam Discovery may prepare a customised itinerary and quotation based on the information provided by the traveller.

Prices and availability may change until the booking is confirmed and the required payment is received.

A booking becomes confirmed only after Assam Discovery has communicated confirmation and the applicable payment requirements have been fulfilled.

4. Customised Travel

Assam Discovery specialises in private and tailor-made travel.

An itinerary may be adjusted according to:

• Travel dates

• Number of travellers

• Interests

• Preferred destinations

• Accommodation category

• Transport preferences

• Available time

• Seasonal conditions

• Permit requirements

• Supplier availability

• Budget and other agreed requirements

A suggested itinerary should therefore be regarded as a planning proposal until the final itinerary is confirmed.

5. Prices and Inclusions

The inclusions and exclusions applicable to each journey will be stated in the relevant quotation, itinerary or booking confirmation.

Unless specifically included, items such as flights, travel insurance, personal expenses, meals, permits, entrance fees, optional activities, tips and other services may be excluded.

Taxes, government fees, permit fees, park charges, fuel surcharges or supplier charges may change from time to time. Where such changes occur before confirmation, Assam Discovery may revise the quotation accordingly.

6. Payment and Booking Confirmation

The payment schedule for a particular journey will be stated in the quotation or booking confirmation.

Depending on the nature of the journey, payment may be required:

• To confirm the booking

• Before specific services become non-refundable

• In instalments

• In full before the beginning of the journey

A booking is subject to availability until the required payment has been received and confirmation has been issued.

Where a supplier requires an advance payment or full payment to secure a service, Assam Discovery may require the corresponding amount from the traveller.

7. Traveller Responsibilities

Travellers are responsible for providing accurate information required for their journey.

This may include:

• Full name as required for travel documents

• Nationality

• Contact details

• Travel dates

• Number of travellers

• Passport or identification details where legitimately required

• Permit-related information

• Special requirements

• Dietary requirements

• Mobility or accessibility requirements

• Other information necessary to arrange the requested services

Travellers are responsible for ensuring that information supplied to Assam Discovery is accurate.

Assam Discovery is not responsible for additional costs or service difficulties resulting from inaccurate, incomplete or late information supplied by the traveller.

8. Passports, Visas and Travel Documents

Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they possess valid passports, visas, permits, identification and other documents required for their journey.

Assam Discovery may provide reasonable information or assistance relating to travel permits and other travel requirements, but the traveller remains responsible for meeting the applicable immigration, visa, passport and entry requirements.

Requirements may change without notice.

Travellers should verify applicable requirements with the relevant government authorities before travelling.

9. Special Requirements

Travellers should inform Assam Discovery at the time of enquiry or booking of any special requirements that may materially affect the journey.

These may include:

• Dietary requirements

• Mobility limitations

• Medical or accessibility considerations relevant to the travel arrangements

• Children travelling with the group

• Special celebrations

• Photography requirements

• Wildlife interests

• Religious or cultural requirements

Assam Discovery will make reasonable efforts to accommodate agreed requirements, subject to availability and the limitations of particular destinations and suppliers.

10. Accommodation

Accommodation is subject to availability.

Where the specified property is unavailable, Assam Discovery may propose an alternative of a comparable category, subject to the traveller's approval where reasonably practicable.

Room views, room locations, adjoining rooms, early check-in and late check-out are subject to hotel availability unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

Hotel policies, deposits, cancellation conditions and other supplier terms may apply.

11. Transportation

Transportation arrangements are subject to road conditions, weather, traffic, government restrictions, vehicle availability and other circumstances beyond Assam Discovery's reasonable control.

Vehicle type, seating capacity and other transportation details will be stated in the applicable itinerary or quotation.

Travel times provided in itineraries are estimates and may change because of road, weather, traffic, security, permit or operational conditions.

12. Wildlife Safaris and Nature Experiences

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

National parks, wildlife sanctuaries and protected areas operate under their own rules, opening schedules, permit systems and safety requirements.

Safari routes, zones, timings and vehicle allocations may be determined by the relevant authorities or park management.

Assam Discovery cannot guarantee sightings of any particular animal or bird species.

13. Permits and Protected Areas

Certain areas of Northeast India may require permits, registrations or other authorisations.

Assam Discovery may assist travellers with applicable procedures where such assistance is included or agreed.

Issuance of a permit or permission remains subject to the decision of the relevant authority.

Assam Discovery cannot guarantee approval where the decision rests with a government authority or other third party.

14. Changes to the Itinerary

Travel conditions can change.

Assam Discovery may recommend reasonable changes to an itinerary where necessary because of:

• Weather

• Road conditions

• Safety considerations

• Government restrictions

• Permit conditions

• Park closures

• Supplier availability

• Local events

• Natural conditions

• Operational circumstances

Where reasonably practicable, we will discuss significant changes with the traveller before implementing them.

Where an unavoidable change is required during a journey, Assam Discovery will seek a reasonable alternative consistent with the original travel plan.

15. Third-Party Travel Suppliers

Assam Discovery may arrange services supplied by independent third parties, including:

• Hotels

• Airlines

• Transport operators

• Drivers

• Guides

• Safari operators

• Activity providers

• Restaurants

• Local experience providers

• Permit authorities

• Other travel suppliers

These suppliers may have their own terms, safety requirements, cancellation conditions and operating procedures.

Assam Discovery will make reasonable efforts to work with reliable service providers, but services supplied by independent third parties remain subject to their operational conditions.

16. Force Majeure and Events Beyond Reasonable Control

Assam Discovery will not be responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances reasonably beyond our control.

Such circumstances may include:

• Natural disasters

• Floods

• Landslides

• Severe weather

• Earthquakes

• Epidemics or pandemics

• War or civil unrest

• Government restrictions

• Strikes

• Road closures

• Security restrictions

• Airport or transport disruption

• Park or destination closures

• Political or administrative restrictions

• Other extraordinary events beyond reasonable control

Where such circumstances affect a journey, Assam Discovery will make reasonable efforts to assist the traveller with alternative arrangements.

Any refund or recovery from suppliers will be handled in accordance with the applicable supplier terms and the Cancellation & Refund Policy.

17. Travel Insurance

Travellers are strongly advised to obtain appropriate travel insurance before beginning their journey.

Depending on the nature of the trip, insurance may cover matters such as:

• Trip cancellation

• Medical expenses

• Emergency evacuation

• Baggage loss or delay

• Travel interruption

• Personal liability

• Other travel-related risks

Travellers are responsible for deciding what insurance coverage is appropriate for their circumstances.

18. Health, Safety and Fitness to Travel

Travellers are responsible for assessing their own suitability for the activities included in their journey.

Certain destinations and activities may involve:

• Long road journeys

• Walking or hiking

• Uneven terrain

• Remote areas

• Wildlife environments

• Altitude

• Weather variations

• Limited medical facilities

Travellers should seek appropriate professional medical advice where necessary before undertaking travel or physically demanding activities.

Assam Discovery should be informed of relevant requirements that may affect the safe delivery of agreed travel arrangements.

19. Children and Minors

Children must travel under the supervision of a parent, guardian or responsible accompanying adult, unless otherwise agreed.

Parents or guardians remain responsible for ensuring that children comply with applicable travel, accommodation, safety and activity requirements.

20. Photography, Wildlife and Cultural Experiences

Travellers are expected to respect local communities, wildlife, protected areas, religious sites and cultural practices.

Photography may be restricted in certain locations.

Travellers must comply with instructions from local authorities, guides, park officials and community representatives.

21. Personal Belongings

Travellers are responsible for their personal belongings, valuables, money, passports, electronic devices and other personal property during the journey.

Assam Discovery should be informed immediately if an item is lost or misplaced so that reasonable assistance can be provided.

22. Limitation of Liability

Assam Discovery will provide travel-planning and tour-organisation services with reasonable care.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Assam Discovery will not be responsible for loss, delay, injury, inconvenience, expense or disruption arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control or from the independent acts, omissions or failures of third-party suppliers.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted under applicable law.

23. Complaints During a Journey

If a traveller experiences a problem during a journey, the traveller should notify Assam Discovery or the relevant service provider as soon as reasonably possible.

Prompt notification gives us the best opportunity to investigate the issue and attempt to resolve it while the traveller is still travelling.

Where a complaint concerns a third-party supplier, Assam Discovery will reasonably assist in communicating with that supplier.

24. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the text, photographs, graphics, branding, logos and other original content published on the Assam Discovery website are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

They may not be reproduced, copied, modified or commercially used without appropriate permission.

25. Website Information

Assam Discovery makes reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and current.

However, destinations, prices, availability, regulations, permits, transportation schedules and supplier conditions may change.

Website content should therefore not be treated as a guarantee of availability, price or a particular service unless expressly confirmed by Assam Discovery in writing.

26. Privacy

Personal information provided to Assam Discovery will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, protected and shared for legitimate travel-related purposes.

27. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws applicable in India.

Subject to applicable consumer-protection and other mandatory legal rights, disputes shall be addressed first through good-faith communication between the traveller and Assam Discovery.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove any statutory right or remedy available to a traveller under applicable law.

28. Changes to These Terms

Assam Discovery may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, travel operations or applicable legal requirements.

The latest version published on this page will apply to future enquiries and bookings, subject to the terms specifically agreed for an already confirmed booking.
