Begin your Assam experience with a morning safari in Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's most important habitats for the greater one-horned rhinoceros.
Depending on the safari zone and season, look for rhinos, Asian elephants, wild buffalo, deer and a remarkable variety of birdlife.
Later, enjoy another opportunity to explore the surrounding landscape or relax at your lodge.

After breakfast, travel towards Jorhat, the heart of Assam's tea country.
Along the way, experience the changing scenery from wildlife country to the rolling green landscapes of tea gardens. Arrive in Jorhat and settle into your accommodation.
Depending on the season and estate schedule, enjoy an introduction to Assam tea, with an opportunity to learn about tea cultivation, processing and the traditions surrounding one of India's most celebrated teas.

Spend the day discovering the world of Assam tea.
Visit a tea estate and learn how the tea journey begins—from the carefully cultivated bushes to processing and tasting. Where available and appropriate to the season, observe tea plucking and visit the tea factory.
Experience the atmosphere of Assam's historic tea country, with its gardens, heritage landscapes and distinctive way of life.

Day 5 — Jorhat to Majuli | The Great River Island

Travel towards the Brahmaputra and continue by ferry to Majuli, one of Assam's most distinctive cultural landscapes. Explore the island's villages and experience its traditions, crafts and rural way of life.
Visit a Satra, a Vaishnavite monastery and centre of Assamese cultural traditions, subject to local schedules.
Meet local artisans and discover traditions such as mask-making and other forms of indigenous craftsmanship.

Spend a relaxed day exploring the cultural landscape of Majuli.
Depending on local conditions and interests, visit villages, interact with artisans, explore traditional homes and discover the island's distinctive relationship with the Brahmaputra.
This is a day to slow down and experience Assam beyond conventional sightseeing.

Day 7 — Majuli to Sivasagar | The Legacy of the Ahoms

Leave Majuli and continue towards Sivasagar, the historic centre of the Ahom kingdom.
Explore important Ahom-era monuments, including the magnificent Sivasagar Sivadol and the historic royal remains around the town.
Continue towards Charaideo, the historic burial landscape of the Ahom royalty, if time and route conditions permit.
The day offers a fascinating transition from river-island culture to Assam's royal heritage.
