Start early for an immersive wildlife experience at Hollongapar Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Assam's important primate habitats. Journey into the Ahom Kingdom

Today the journey moves into one of Assam's most important historical landscapes — the former heartland of the Ahom Kingdom. Travel towards Sivasagar, the historic capital of the Ahom rulers, and explore its remarkable monuments.

Visit Sivadol, one of Assam's most prominent historic temples, followed by the architectural and cultural landmarks of Rang Ghar and Talatal Ghar.

The journey then continues towards Charaideo, the original royal centre of the Ahom dynasty. Here, explore the remarkable Charaideo Maidams, the burial mounds associated with Ahom royalty and nobles.

The combination of Sivasagar and Charaideo offers a deeper understanding of Assam's royal history, architecture and cultural evolution.

After breakfast, travel towards the ferry point for Majuli, one of Northeast India's most distinctive cultural landscapes. Cross the Brahmaputra by ferry and arrive on the island.

Majuli is renowned for its Vaishnavite Satras, traditional arts, mask-making, rural landscapes and indigenous communities, making it one of the most rewarding cultural destinations in Assam.

Visit selected Satras and, where possible, interact with local communities and artisans.

The day is intentionally flexible, allowing more time to experience the island rather than rushing between attractions.

Later, return by ferry across the Brahmaputra and continue to Jorhat.

Today is dedicated to one of Nagaland's most spectacular natural landscapes — Dzüko Valley. Start early and travel towards the trekking point before beginning the hike through forest and mountain terrain.

As the trail rises, the landscape opens towards the sweeping valleys and ridges for which Dzüko is famous. Seasonal vegetation and flowers, rolling green slopes and dramatic mountain formations create exceptional opportunities for landscape photography.

This is the most physically demanding day of the Nagaland section and is best suited to travellers comfortable with a full day of mountain walking.

Naga Village Heritage to Assam Wildlife Country

After breakfast, leave Kohima for Khonoma, an historic Angami Naga village surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. Explore the village's traditional architecture, agricultural terraces, community spaces and cultural heritage.

Khonoma provides a more intimate experience of Naga village life, complementing the larger cultural presentation experienced at Kisama.

After the village experience, continue towards Assam.
