Arrive in Jorhat, the heart of Upper Assam's tea country. Meet our representative and begin your journey towards the plantation landscape.

After check-in, settle into your accommodation and take time to experience the surroundings.

If your arrival permits, enjoy an introductory walk through the nearby tea gardens and get your first impression of the landscape that has shaped Assam's tea heritage.

Day 2: Tea Estate Experience – Life Among the Tea Gardens

Today is devoted to experiencing the tea estate at close quarters.

Walk through the plantation and learn how tea bushes are cultivated, maintained and harvested. During the active plucking season, observe tea workers carefully selecting the tender leaves and buds that begin the journey towards the finished tea.

Learn how season, weather, altitude, soil and cultivation practices influence the character of Assam Tea.

There will also be time to enjoy the plantation landscape, photograph the gardens and understand the rhythm of life within a working tea estate.

Day 3: Tea Factory – From Leaf to Cup

Overnight: Tea Estate / Heritage Bungalow

Today takes you inside the world of tea manufacturing.

Visit a working tea factory, subject to estate permission and operational schedules, and follow the freshly harvested leaf through the principal stages of processing.

Understand how withering, rolling, oxidation and drying transform the fresh leaf into finished tea.

You will also learn about the difference between CTC and Orthodox tea, and how different processing methods influence the appearance, aroma, strength and character of the final product.

The experience culminates in a guided tea tasting, giving you an opportunity to appreciate Assam Tea beyond its familiar reputation.

Day 4: Tocklai – Exploring Assam's Tea Research Heritage

Overnight: Tea Estate / Heritage Bungalow

Continue your exploration of Assam's tea heritage with a visit to Tocklai, one of the most important names in the history of tea research in Assam, subject to access and prior arrangements.

Discover how scientific research has contributed to tea cultivation, plant development, pest management, processing and quality.

Later, return through the tea-growing landscapes of Upper Assam.

Depending on the season and your interests, the afternoon can be kept flexible for another plantation walk, photography, relaxation or an additional tea experience.

Day 5: Tea Tasting & Seasonal Flush Experience

Today is designed particularly for the tea enthusiast.

Explore the character of Assam Tea through its seasonal production. Depending on your travel dates and estate operations, experience teas associated with the First Flush, Second Flush, Monsoon or Autumn period.

Compare teas and discover how season, weather, processing and growing conditions can influence colour, aroma, body and flavour.

There will also be time to enjoy the slower side of plantation life—perhaps over a cup of freshly prepared Assam Tea surrounded by the gardens where it was grown.

Day 6: Tea Country – Jorhat & Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning in the plantation surroundings before returning to Jorhat.

Depending on your onward travel plans, transfer can be arranged to Jorhat Airport, railway station or another preferred location.
