Day 1: Guwahati – Gateway to Assam

Overnight: Guwahati

Arrive in Guwahati and meet our representative.

Depending on your arrival time, enjoy a relaxed introduction to Assam or explore selected attractions in and around the city.

The evening is kept leisurely so that you can begin the journey comfortably before travelling deeper into Assam's countryside.

Day 2: Guwahati → Kaziranga National Park

Overnight: Kaziranga

After breakfast, drive towards Kaziranga National Park through the changing landscapes of Assam.

Arrive at your wildlife lodge or resort and settle into the natural surroundings.

Depending on your arrival time and seasonal conditions, enjoy a short local excursion, nature experience or simply relax at the property.

Day 3: Kaziranga Wildlife Experience → Jorhat

Overnight: Jorhat / Tea Estate

Begin the day with a jeep safari in Kaziranga, exploring its grasslands, wetlands and forest habitats.

The park is renowned for its Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros, while other possible sightings include wild buffalo, elephants, deer and numerous bird species.

After the wildlife experience, continue towards Jorhat, the heart of Assam's tea country.

As you approach Upper Assam, the landscape gradually changes and tea gardens begin to dominate the countryside.

Day 4: Assam Tea Country – Estate, Factory & Tasting

Overnight: Tea Estate / Heritage Bungalow

Today is dedicated to Assam's tea heritage.

Begin with a walk through a working tea estate and discover how tea is cultivated and harvested. During the active season, observe tea plucking and learn about the tender leaves and buds that begin the journey towards the finished tea.

Visit a working tea factory, subject to estate permission and operational schedules, and follow the process from fresh leaf to finished tea.

Understand the differences between CTC and Orthodox tea, followed by an Assam Tea tasting experience.

The evening can be spent relaxing in the plantation surroundings.

Day 5: Tea Estate → Majuli – Living Island Culture

Overnight: Majuli

After breakfast, travel towards the river and continue by ferry to Majuli, Assam's remarkable river island and one of its most distinctive cultural landscapes.

Explore the island's villages, agricultural surroundings and traditional way of life.

Visit selected Satras, the Vaishnavite monasteries that have played a central role in preserving Assam's religious, artistic and cultural traditions.

Depending on the day's arrangements, discover traditional mask-making, pottery, weaving or other local crafts.

Day 6: Majuli – Culture, Villages & Traditional Life → Jorhat

Overnight: Jorhat / Tea Estate

Continue exploring Majuli's living culture.

Spend time in selected villages and experience the island at a slower pace. Depending on local schedules and permissions, meet artisans and discover traditional crafts and community life.

Later, return to the mainland and continue to Jorhat.

The evening is free to relax or enjoy the tea-estate surroundings.

Day 7: Jorhat → Sivasagar – Ahom Heritage

Overnight: Jorhat

Travel to Sivasagar, the historic centre of the Ahom kingdom.

Explore important heritage monuments including the Sivasagar Sivadol, Rang Ghar and Talatal Ghar, while learning about the remarkable history of the Ahom dynasty and its long influence on Assam. Visit Charaideo Maidam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The journey provides an important cultural counterpoint to the tea experience, showing how Assam's history extends far beyond its plantations.

Return to Jorhat in the evening.

Day 8: Tea Country – Jorhat Departure

After breakfast, enjoy a final morning in the tea-country surroundings.

Depending on your departure schedule, there may be time for a final tea tasting, plantation walk or relaxed morning at the property.

Later, transfer to Jorhat Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

Tour Ends at Jorhat

Leave Assam with memories of tea gardens, wildlife, river-island culture, ancient heritage and the people who give the region its character.
